Mr. Gilbert was a Truck Driver, a Veteran of the Navy during the Vietnam War. and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Paducah.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Paul Gilbert of Paducah; two brothers, Raymond Jackie Gilbert of Paducah, Donald Lee Gilbert of Paducah; one sister, Hannah Williams of Reidland; two grandchildren, Chris Gilbert, Kiersten Gilbert; one great granddaughter, Alauna; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jesse Gilbert and Alma Ethel (Darnell) Gilbert; one daughter, Dawn Michelle Gilbert; three sisters, Katherine Brantley, Frances Adams, Linda McDowell; three brothers, William Richard Gilbert, Charles Michael Gilbert, Walter Gilbert.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Pastor Brian Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Provine Cemetery in Briensburg.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to service time on Monday at the funeral home.
