CFS Lady Eagles, Eagles midway through district schedule of games

Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles and Eagles have hit their district slate of games over the past few days. Following a loss to Marshall County, the Lady Eagles fell to Murray 54-41 and Calloway County 70-28 and drop to 0-3 in the district and 8-7 overall.

Marshall County girls lead the 4th District standings at 3-0.

The Eagles are 0-3 in the district after losses to Marshall County and a second loss to Murray 85-62 and are 6-10 overall. Both teams will host Marshall County tonight for the second of their two 4th District contests.

Gracie Howard has combined for 46 points over the Lady Eagles last two games against Murray and Calloway County. Howard is currently ranked second in the state among scoring leaders with 431 points and an average of 27.2 points per game.

Samuel Grigg, in the Eagles January 13 game against Marshall County, led CFS in scoring against Murray with 22 points.

In the Region 1 All “A” Classic on January 8, the CFS Eagles lost 89-47 to Murray but they cut their losing deficit in the second meeting against the Tigers significantly in last Friday’s 85-62 loss.

Samuel Grigg led the Eagles with 22 points followed by Elijah Grigg with 20. Elijah Grigg is one of the state’s top 10 scorers coming in at seventh with 435 points and an average of 27.2 points per game.

Murray currently leads the boy’s 4th District standings at 4-0.
