On Thursday, January 18, 2024, at approximately 9:30 P.M. the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to Blandville Road, between McCracken Boulevard & Mayfield Metropolis Road regarding an injury collision. It was reported a semi tractor-trailer had run off the roadway and collided with a tree.
The investigation revealed Rene Sanchez (60) of Tampa, Florida was operating a 2013 Freightliner, westbound on Blandville Road. Sanchez reported he attempted to avoid a collision with a deer in the roadway. The semi tractor-trailer left the roadway and collided with a tree. Sanchez was entrapped in the cab and was extracted by mechanical means by Lone Oak Fire Department. Sanchez was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The roadway was closed for approximately nine (9) hours to facilitate the recovery of the semi tractor-trailer.
