Nancy Johnson Noss, 93

Nancy Johnson Noss of Paducah, formerly of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday afternoon January 2, 2024 at Life Care Center in La Center, KY. She was 93 years old.

Nancy was the daughter of James Nolen Johnson Sr. and Mamie Burrows Johnson. Born on March 27, 1930 she attended Germantown Tennessee public schools. After graduating from high-school, she was training as a nurse at Campbell’s Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee when she met her future husband, Dr. Glenn R. Noss, Sr. of Paducah, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee. They were married for 62 years.

Nancy was a full-time devoted wife and mother to four children. She was also a caregiver for her husband for his last 10 years after he was disabled in a car accident. She was a long-time active member of the First Baptist Church of Paducah. She also was a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club and McCracken County Women’s Medical Auxiliary.

She is predeceased in death by her husband, Dr. Noss, and was mother to four children, Glenn Richard Noss, Jr. (Gina) of Paducah, Dr. James Wesley Noss (Joan) of Versailles, KY, Carolyn Noss Nichols of Johns Creek, GA, and Patrick Lee Noss (Sherry) of West Paducah. She is also survived by two step grandchildren, Patti Lynn Slankard of Paducah and William Kevin Record of Kevil, KY, and also four grandchildren, Michael Noss and Matthew Noss of Versailles, KY, Nancy Elizabeth Ward (Austin) of Birmingham, AL, and Mary Rhea Gandy (Nicholas) of Selma, AL. In addition, she also had four great-grandchildren, Claudia, Virginia, and Micah Ward and Jackson Gandy.

Services will be held at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Paducah, KY on Monday January 8, 2024 with visitation from 4:00pm-7:00pm followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm with Dr. James Wesley Noss officiating.

Graveside services will be held at Mt. Kenton Cemetery at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 9, 2024.
