Ray Powell, age 56, of Cerulean, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Born May 11, 1967, in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late George Eugene and Martha (Johnson) Powell.
Ray was a former employee of Averitt Lumber Co. and was a member of Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time as “Papaw” with his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everette Eugene Powell and William Powell; a sister, Ramona Nelson; and nephew, David Pendley.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Crystal McCluskey Powell of Trigg County; son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Cynthia Britt of Princeton, KY; grandchildren, Nicholas Britt, James Robert Britt, Hunter Britt, Brantley Britt, and Hazel Ann Britt; step grandchildren, Dawson Gass and Dwane Gass; and two sisters, Teresa (Jeff) Vickery and Patricia Carty, both of Princeton.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024. A graveside memorial service will follow at 3:30 PM at Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery, Blackhawk Road, Princeton.
