
Robert Lendon Brantley, age 82, passed away December 21, 2023 at 5:05 p.m. at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee.
Robert is survived by his three children; son, Robert Mark Brantley, daughter Robin Lynn Creekmur and husband Steven, daughter Shari Anne Gentry and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Logan Creekmur and wife Hannah, Jordan Creekmur, Brittany Meyers and husband Conner, Tyler Gentry and Dustin Gentry; and great-grandchild, Smith Creekmur. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Lee Brantley and his wife Brooke ; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anne Brantley; his brother, William Allen Brantley; and his parents, Lendon and Gertie Brantley.
Robert was a native of Durham, North Carolina and a graduate of Duke University. He also served in the United States Navy before starting his 34 year long career with Westvaco. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Paducah, where he served in the deacon ministry, media ministry, and on numerous committees. He loved sharing God’s word and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Some of his favorite hobbies were tennis, watching sports, especially Duke basketball and eating ice cream. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and in recent years a great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the service time of 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
