A strong relationship of mutual trust between the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department and our community is critical to maintaining public safety and effective policing. Our agency relies on the cooperation of community members to provide information about crime in their neighborhoods, and to work with the police to devise solutions to crime and disorder problems. Similarly, community members’ willingness to trust the police depends on them knowing what we do for our community.
We would like to take this time to give you an overview of what we do in a typical month. The individual cases you see us release are a small percentage of our calls for service; the ones that are of greater consequence. We do not release them with the intention of causing anyone embarrassment. In fact, we only wish that they recover from the situation in which they found themselves. We release these cases to keep our citizens informed of what’s going on in their community. To know what to look out for and to see that your Sheriff’s Office is working to keep Calloway County a safe place to live.
