Local Pickleball players went to Owensboro to the Merchant Centre Court to participate in the River City Open October 27-29. This event was held indoors with 316 players competing on 14 courts. This was a skill level tournament with Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles on Saturday, Mixed Doubles on Sunday, and Senior divisions (50+) held on Friday. The 5.0 Divisions offered a prize money payout.
Brent Thompson and Todd Dotson were undefeated in their matches in 4.0 Men’s Doubles 50+. The highlight of the tournament was in their Gold medal match, they were down 10-0 and came back to win GOLD 16-14. Marvin Travis and Cameron Brown only lost one game in their 4.5 Men’s Doubles division. Great play by all our players with some tough completion.
