Calvert City, KY (October 23, 2023) – On October 21, 2023 an officer was observing traffic on US Highway 62. He observed a vehicle with one headlight and the rear license plate not illuminated. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Jimmy Earl Meadows, 62, of Calvert City. Mr. Meadows was able to get his headlight operational. It was discovered that his operators license was suspended and that he had a warrant out of McCracken County. Jimmy Earl Meadows was arrested on the McCracken County Warrant for failure to appear. He was also charged with rear license not illuminated and operating on a suspended or revoked operators license.
On October 22, 2023 an officer was observing traffic on US Highway 62. He observed a vehicle with dark/tinted tail lamps and blue tinted lights on the front of the vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Hushton Remington Burton, 40, of Eddyville. Upon contact with Mr. Burton he was not wearing his seat belt, he did not have his operators license, and an odor of marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle was performed and marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and alcohol were located. Hushton Remington Burton was charged with vehicle headlamp/tail light color variations, failure to wear seat belt, license to be in possession, of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
