Lady Marshals wrap up regular season, district tournament begins Monday

Marshall County’s volleyball team finished up their regular season games this week and will prepare for the Fourth District Tournament that gets underway on Monday, October 16. The Lady Marshals (7-14) will play Christian Fellowship (10-16) at 7:30 in the second semi-final. The first semi-final will be between Murray and Calloway County.

The winners will advance to the district title game on Tuesday at 6:00. The Fourth District Tournament will be played at Christian Fellowship. The Lady Marshals beat CFS in both regular season matches by scores of 3-0 and 3-2.

Before taking a break from competition over Fall Break, the Lady Marshals beat Crittenden County 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23), lost to Calloway County 3-2 (25-10, 25-15, 17-25, 12-25, 15-13) and bounced back with a 3-0 win over Murray (25-23, 25-17, 25-19).

In the win over Crittenden County, Sarah Bremmerkamp led in kills with 14 and Abby Belcher had eight. Ayla Holt led in assists with 16. Bremmerkamp and Hadley Barrett led in digs with 13 a piece, Terry had 12 and Holt 11. Barrett and Maleah Terry each had four service aces.

Against Calloway County, stat leaders were Bremmerkamp with 10 kills and Holt had 21 assists. Terry led in digs with 25, Bremmerkamp had 16 and Holt 15.

In the win over Murray, Bremmerkamp led in kills with 15, Olivia Hawkins and Abby Belcher had five kills each. Holt had 26 assists, Terry led with 11 digs and Bremmerkamp had six aces.

In two games this week, the Lady Marshals lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18) to Graves County and 3-1 (11-25, 25-9, 25-21, 25-18) to Community Christian Academy.

Against Graves County, Bremmerkamp led in kills with seven and in digs with eight. Holt and Emma Reynolds each had five assists.
