Martha Jane Long, 77 of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Martha was born in Benton, Kentucky on August 3, 1946 to the late Coleman and Tula Peck Nichols. Before retiring, she worked as a banker for Citizens Bank and C Plant Federal Credit Union in Paducah. Martha was crafty lady who enjoyed painting, scrapbooking, sewing and knitting. She was a huge UK fan and served as a Kentucky Colonel. Martha was a member of Palma United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ernie Long of Calvert City, KY; daughter, Jennifer Johnson and husband, Rick of Marrero, Louisiana; son, Kyle Long and wife, Kelly of Benton, KY; one sister, Myrlin Thweatt of Benton; four grandchildren, Coleman Long, Anistyn Treas, Braydon Schroader and Ryan Johnson (Amy); and one great grandchild, Kaylin Johnson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Nichols and John Nichols; and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home with Ray Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Salyer Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, Kentucky.
