Marshall County Health Dept. August Update

Marshall County Health Department update for the month of August.

August was National Immunization month. The Health Department says if you are a good candidate for and interested in getting an immunization, now is the time to make it happen or make your plans. Your local health departments with work insurance carriers and/or provide services on a sliding scale for those who may not have coverage.

In the attached update, you will see that as always, an increase in several illnesses when students go back to school.

They are experiencing an increase in COVID cases in comparison to these last few months with 120 cases in August. The Health Dept. wants you to keep in mind that local health departments and the Kentucky Department for Public Health are not counting cases, and the numbers reported do not include the self-tests which are not reportable.

The numbers reported derive from CDC reports of hospital admissions and percentage of deaths related to COVID. The KDPH is soon to implement a new all-inclusive dashboard that will address COIVD numbers as well as a number of other issues. More to come on that.
