Pavement repairs to continue through Friday
PADUCAH, Ky. (August 30, 2023) – Motorists should be alert for a traffic shift and ongoing work zone along a section of U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road near the Kennedy Road intersection and Lourdes Hospital Mercy Health entrance in Paducah.
On Friday, a bulge appeared in the pavement where Atmos Energy was drilling beneath the roadway for installation of a new natural gas line.
The southbound passing lane had to be closed over the weekend to allow pavement repairs. Today, traffic was shifted to allow repairs to the northbound turn lane. The northbound passing lane is also blocked at the site to provide a work area for the repair crew.
This work zone configuration is expected to remain in place through Friday, Sept 1. The repair crew plans to reopen all lanes at this site in time for Labor Day weekend traffic.
Patients, employees ,and visitors exiting the Lourdes Mercy Health should be aware of this lane restriction near the hospital entrance and Kennedy Road intersection.
