
On July 18, 2023 at 8:06 am, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1800 block of Krebs Station Road regarding a vehicle vs. motorcycle collision.
The investigation revealed a 2008 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Krebs Station Road. The motorcycle was operated by Todd Ligon (32) of Paducah.
A 2022 Ram 5500 tank truck was traveling westbound on Krebs Station Road when it encountered a stopped trash collection truck. The truck was operated by Bobby Ives (59) of Benton, Kentucky. The truck entered the eastbound lane of travel to pass the stopped trash collection truck.
The motorcycle and truck collided head on in the eastbound lane of travel. Todd Ligon was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, Hendron Fire Department, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, McCracken County DES and McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
Harper’s Towing & Stinnett’s Towing assisted with the removal of the vehicles.
Krebs Station Road was closed for approximately three hours to facilitate the investigation.
The investigation into this collision is ongoing at this time and additional information may be released at a later time.
