Elsie Riley, graduate of Marshall County High School, was recognized as the 2023 winner of the Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship at a recent meeting of the Marshall County Republican Women. Kennadi Spraggs, former recipient, was the guest speaker for the program. She challenged Elsie to be herself and represent her community in her college life. Ms. Spraggs also acknowledged that it is comforting to start your college career with the support of family, friends, and the Republican Women.
Elsie has chosen to attend Murray State University with a major in Biology. Her parents are Tanya and Luke Riley.
The Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship provided by the Marshall County Republican Women is available to Senior Women from any Marshall County High School or Home School program. Applications for next year will be available in January 2024. Monies for the Scholarship are raised through various fund-raising events throughout the year. The Women have provided several girls with the award since 2007, totaling a little over $30,000.
