
Elaine Marie Hess Linder, age 71, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Countryside Center and Rehabilitation in Bardwell, Kentucky.
Elaine was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on December 20, 1951 to Joseph and Lois Hess. She was a homemaker and attended Anchor of Hope Church. Elaine loved gardening (especially daffodils) and being outdoors. She was unfailingly generous, literally giving away the coat off her back. She enjoyed sharing coffee with friends, journaling with her stellar penmanship, reading, traveling and playing the piano, especially hymns. She will be lovingly remembered for her quirky and whimsical personality, her spirit, her unique sense of humor and her ability to say the unexpected.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Earl Linder; her four children: Nathanael David Linder (Holly) of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Katrina Eilidh Linder (Eric Lynn) of Lake Tapps, Washington, Maria Joy Linder (William Kachersky) of Seattle, Washington and Christy Renee Linder (Pierce Randall) of Albany, New York; her parents, Joseph and Lois Hess of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; three sisters: Deborah Kipfer of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, Rachael Webster (Bruce) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Sue Kawase (Yutaka) of Louisburg, Kansas; five brothers: Joseph Hess, Jr. (Linda) of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, Jim Hess (Rosemary) of Broadway, Virginia, Dean Hess (Maryanne) of Laurel, Maryland, Don Hess (Kathy) of Manheim, Pennsylvania and Seth Pobee (Sherry) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, MaNoah Linder, Addington Fiscus, and Breanna Lynn.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Dan Hess (Gloria of Manheim, Pennsylvania).
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe, 1079 Court St., Wickliffe, KY 42087. Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors in honor of Elaine’s love of colorful clothing
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
