Mary Ellen Carrico, age 87, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 9:22 P.M. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Ellen was born in Red Bay, Alabama on Tuesday, July 2, 1935 to Robert and Hettie Ledbetter. She was a retired beautician, and an avid quilter, winning several awards with her skills. She was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Ellen will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Carrico is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Paul Eugene Carrico; her daughters, Paula Jean Englert (Greg) of Paducah and Laura Beth Wright (Winfield) of Durango, Colorado; Her sons, Kevin Matthew Carrico of Boaz, Kentucky and Richard Alan Carrico (Melodie) of Paducah; her sister, Eugenia Morgan of Alabama; her brother, Troyce Ledbetter (Marcia) of Florence, Alabama; her grandchildren, Kimberly Englert, Heather Carrico (Jade), Michael Carrico (Kortney), Bradley Englert, Daniel Carrico (Shamber), Tyler Carrico (Lindy), Clayton Englert and Ian Wright; her great grandchildren, Sarah, Abel, Logan and Lucas; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carrico was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hilton Ledbetter, Sr. and Hettie Odell Duncan Ledbetter; her sisters, Eva Grissom, Ernestine Self and Vaudine Ledbetter; her brothers, Golden Ledbetter, Hollis Ledbetter, Robert H. Ledbetter, Jr. and Edward Ledbetter; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Carrico.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel.
