Re: Drug Raid Symsonia area of Graves County.
Two Symsonia residents were arrested at around 12:30AM Thursday morning June 08, 2023.
A drug investigation being conducted in McCracken County led to information about an address located in the 12000 block of Ky Hwy 131, which is located about a mile north of the Symsonia 4-Way.
The Graves, McCracken, and Carlisle Sheriff’s Offices and Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at the residence after midnight early Thursday morning.
Over one pound of crystal Methamphetamine was seized as well as over 1/2 pound of processed Marijuana, U.S. Currency that was proceeds of illegal drug sales, and other related items.
Two suspects that reside at this residence were arrested, one of which had an extremely lengthy criminal record for felony drug trafficking.
34 year old Joshua B. Hill was charged with Trafficking in a 1st Degree Controlled Substance (Meth) 7th Offense, Trafficking in Marijuana Over 8 ounces, and other related charges. A small child in the home was released to a relative. Felony quantities of illegal drugs were found in areas accessible by the small child that resulted in Wanton Endangerment charges being filed additionally.
Hill’s extensive criminal history includes felony convictions for 3 Counts of Trafficking in Cocaine and was sentenced May of 2015, Trafficking in Cocaine sentenced March 2012, Trafficking in Marijuana and Cocaine sentenced in March 2012, and again Trafficking in Cocaine and felony fleeing from law enforcement March of 2008. Hill’s 2018 Dodge Challenger was also seized as part of this investigation. Hill was delivering and selling crystal Methamphetamine in the Symsonia area Wednesday evening while driving this vehicle.
Additionally, sheriff’s detectives arrested 34 year old Jessica R. Shimerda of Symsonia on charges of Wanton Endangerment related to felony drugs being located in the home that was easily accessible by a small child in the home, as well as charges of Trafficking in both Methamphetamine and Marijuana.
This investigation is continuing in both Graves and McCracken Counties.
Both suspects were transported to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office and later taken to out of county detention facilities.
