Extended Closure of Old Friendship Rd at KY 1286/North Friendship Rd starts Tuesday, May 23

Closure to remain in place through May 30

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 22, 2023) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans and extended closure of Old Friendship Road along the KY Hwy 1286/North Friendship Road construction corridor in McCracken County starting Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Old Friendship Road will be closed immediately at the KY 1286/North Friendship Road intersection starting at 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 23.  It is expected to remain closed through Tuesday, May 30.

This planned closure is at the south end of Old Friendship Road.

There will be no marked detour.

This closure of Old Friendship Road is expected to have no impact on traffic along KY 1286/North Friendship Road.

This Phase I of the KY 1286/North Friendship Road reconstruction project includes the section between U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road and U.S. 62/Blandville Road in the Lone Oak area of McCracken County.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $6,338,335 highway improvement project.  The target completion date for Phase I is November 30, 2024.

The project includes a new connection to U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road, realignment of curves, and a multi-use trail.
