Track teams compete at Apollo Invitational

Delaney Miller placed fourth in the high jump at the Apollo Invitational on Saturday with 4-08.

In a final tune-up before Tuesday’s Region I Class 3A meet at Marshall County High School, the girls’ and boys’ teams competed in the Apollo Invitational last Saturday in Owensboro.

The Lady Marshals finished fourth in the field of 18 teams with 12 top five performances.

Alexander Holman placed seventh in the 110 meter high hurdles on Saturday with a time of 17.40.

The Marshals finished 10th among 21 teams and recorded 10 top 10 performances. Looking towards regionals, they ran a light weekend with many individuals in off events. There were 17 personal bests recorded. Cade Sorrells 400 performance was top three in the freshmen hall of fame behind Cade Flatt and Will Davis. Deegan Crowly improved his freshmen records in shot and disc, the 4×400 ran a season best and currently ranked sixth in the state and Isaac Hodges moved into the top five in program hall of fame in the 100 meter dash according to Coach Andrew Johnston.
