Thompson and Futrell win Dave Stewart Memorial Scholarship Tournament

Jack Thompson and Preston Futrell took the win at Saturday’s Dave Stewart Memorial Scholarship Tournament out of Moors Marina. Thompson and Futrell caught the five-fish limit weighing in at 15 pounds which earned them a combined $3,000 scholarship.

Earning the Big Bass Award and a combined $1,000 scholarship was another Marshall County duo. Hayden Gray and Maxon Mitchell weighed one fish at 4.20 and it was enough to win the award and finish 20th in the tournament.

A total of 75 teams competed in the tournament sponsored by Jet-A-Marina.

The KHSAA Region 1 Tournament is on Saturday, Apr. 29 on Lake Barkley out of Kuttawa Harbor Marina.
