CFS Lady Eagles record back-to-back wins in games last week

Following a break in games over Spring Break, the Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles lost one and picked up two wins last week in three away games.

Monday, Hickman County beat the Lady Eagles 15-0 on 11 hits in a 3-inning game. Two hits in the game came from Jayden Jackson and Kyndal Owen. Blair Byassee was the big hitter for Hickman County. She was 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, home run and seven RBIs. The freshman pitcher also earned the win over three innings, allowing two hits while striking out two.

Jayden Jackson earned back-to-back wins last week over Fulton County and University Heights. In both games combined, Jackson went 8-for-10 at the plate with a double, two triples and six RBIs.

CFS turned things around on Thursday with an 18-1 win over Fulton County in five innings. Fifteen hits were spread among seven players, led by Jayden Jackson who went 4-for-5 at the plate. The senior had three singles, a triple and drove in three runs. Jackson earned the win from the circle over five innings, allowing one hit, one run and striking out nine.

Jackson scored on a passed ball with Renee Shields at the plate who hit a single and they were off to a 3-1 lead after one inning. That same combination brought in the first run of the second inning and a single by eighth grader Kyndal Owen scored two more for a 6-1 lead.

Two runs in the top of the third came in on a single by Jackson and bases loaded walk from Lily Burnett. The five run fourth and fifth innings were highlighted by triples hit by Jackson and Rhema Howard and a double by Burnett.

The Lady Eagles recorded back-to-back wins with Friday’s 17-5 victory over University Heights on 20 hits over six innings. University Heights led 4-2 after one inning but CFS went up 9-5 after five innings before a big 8-run sixth inning put the game away.

Jayden Jackson, again with the hot bat, went 4-for-5 at the plate with two singles, a double, triple and drove in three runs. Madie Siebert was also 4-for-5 and drove in two runs. Jackson struck out five on her way to the 6-inning win while allowing seven hits and five runs.

The Lady Eagles will travel across Hwy. 68 to play Marshall County tonight (April 17). First pitch is at 5:30.
