Mrs. Imogene Hendon Monroe, age 105, of Hickory, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at The Bungalows of Mayfield, formerly known as Morningside.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a member of Retired Teacher Association, a member of Graves County Homemakers, a former Pink Lady at Jackson Purchase Medical Center, one of the oldest MSU Alumni and a retired teacher from Mayfield High School and the Graves County School System.
Mrs. Monroe is survived by several nieces and nephews and a great niece, Wendy Monroe Weaver of Paducah, KY who was also her caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Monroe; one sister, Carlene Mason; and her parents, James Ordway and Alma Carman Hendon.
Graveside services for Mrs. Imogene Hendon Monroe will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Wayne Berry will officiate. Interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be Mark Monroe, Greg Monroe, Mike Monroe, Dale Weaver, Matt Monroe and Kyle Monroe.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Monday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
