Mrs. Sybil Jean Lasater, 89, of Buchanan, TN passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at The Farms at Puryear in Puryear, TN.

 

Born June 19, 1933, in Kennett, MO, Sybil was the daughter of the late Enoch Harvey Kaiser and Lue Ethel (Hyatt) Kaiser. She was a homemaker and worked as a salesclerk at The Shoe Tree. She was a 50 year member of the Murray Star Chapter #433 of the Order of The Eastern Star of Kentucky. Sybil was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Murray, KY and after moving to Tennessee, she became a member of New Providence Baptist Church, Hazel, KY.

 

Sybil is survived by her children; Marilyn Aubrey, husband Will of Murray, KY, Dayton Lasater, wife Trina Swift Lasater of Magnolia, TX, Joe Franklin “Jody” Lasater, Jr. of Murray, KY, and Lana White, husband Michael of Buchanan, TN, as well as a sister, Lue Ethel Howell of Sikeston, MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Spri Anne Wheatley, William David Aubrey (Arianna), Joshua Lee Lasater (Amanda), Amy Carol Pervine (Trevor), Emily Susan Ashton (Michael), Heather Karchefski, Susan Kaylee White and James David White and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Franklin Lasater, Sr., whom she married on May 6, 1950, and siblings; Marion Calvin Kaiser, Enoch H Kaiser, George T. Kaiser, Myra Kathleen Creamer, Lillie Marie Huffman, Ruth G. Huffman, and Evelyn M. Ronkoski.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home in Murray, KY with Rev. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 516 Clayton Town Rd., Buchanan, TN.

 

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, April 6, 2023, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with an Eastern Star Service being held at 6:00 p.m., at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

The family request that memorial contributions be made in Sybil’s name to New Providence Baptist Church, P.O. Box 748, Murray, KY.
