Mrs. Sara Smoot Woods, age 92, of Mayfield passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
She was a member of Christian Brethren Church in Mayfield, KY and a retired employee of Bell South.
Mrs. Woods is survived by one son, Steven (Lisa) Woods of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Teresa (Dennis) Pierceall of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Susan Conn of Melbourne, FL; four grandchildren, Torin Pierceall, Kelsey McKinney, Jace Woods and Kaitlin Morris; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Woods; one sister, Avella Padgett; two brothers, Bill Smoot and Royce Smoot; and her parents, Roy and Avada Byron Smoot.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Smoot Woods will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Dennis Pierceall, Jimmy Cherry and Bob Woods will officiate. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Torin Pierceall, Jace Woods, Van Padgett, Bob Woods, Will Whitenton and Matt McKinney.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
