Mr. Ronald Earl Orten, age 64, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Orten was born in Flint, Michigan on April 21, 1958, to the late Cecil Orten and Dorothy (Himes) Orten. Mr. Orten was employed at Hickory Woods Senior Living Community in the maintenance department.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Orten was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Dill; and by two step brothers, Jesse Futrell and Earl Futrell.
Mr. Orten is survived by his wife, Linda (Hicks) Orten, to whom he married on July 20, 1991, at Kenlake State Park in Marshall County, Kentucky; one daughter, Jenna Orten of McKenzie, Tennessee; two step sons, Michael Hicks and wife Michelle of Murray, Kentucky, and Eric Hicks of Murray, Kentucky; one step brother, Bill Futrell of Murray, Kentucky; as well as four grandchildren, Aiden Orten and Aubri Horton both of McKenzie, Tennessee, Taylor Hicks of Kirksey, Kentucky, and Kaylee Hicks of Murray, Kentucky.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Hicks Cemetery. Alan Martin will officiate, and burial to follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
