Joe Gaudy signed on Wednesday to continue his football career at Centre College in Danville, Ky. and compete under Head Coach Andy Frye. Centre College is a member of the Southern Athletic Association and a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III.

During his four-year career as a member of the Marshall County football team, Joe served as an offensive and defensive lineman where he was a key fixture and three-year starter. Joe was named All-WKC in 2021 and 2022. He was a four-year, KHSAA 1st Team Academic All-State selection during his career and named Lineman of the Year in the Marshall County Football program in 2021 and 2022.

“I am excited for Joe to have the opportunity to continue playing football on the collegiate level,” Marshall County Head Coach Steve Etheridge said. “He has been dedicated to our program here at MCHS and he deserves all the opportunities that come his way. There is no doubt in my mind that Joe will be successful there on the field, and in the classroom. Centre is getting a really good one.”

Joe contributes much of his success to those that have guided him along the way. Specifically, his parents Jeromy Gaudy and Amanda Gaudy and step-parents Chad Reed and Brooke Gaudy who were integral in his development.  Joe also recognizes and appreciates the numerous coaches and teachers in Marshall County that have worked with him over the years.

“I chose Centre because I felt that in the four years I will be there, I will get more out of it than just an education and academics,” Joe said. “The coaches made it apparent that they cared for the players beyond just athletics and that felt special to me. I’m excited to spend the next four years at Centre.”

Joining Joe at Wednesday’s signing were members of his family, coaches and members of the Marshall County football team and fellow football seniors.
