
LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE
- On Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, at 2:15pm, Sheriff Brent White was dispatched to the Lyon County Water District building in the 5000 block of US 62 West in Suwanee for a juvenile complaint. The investigation revealed a 15-year-old juvenile was riding an ATV unsupervised when he collided with the back of the Water District and Fire Department building causing damage to the building and a central heat/air unit. The juvenile ATV driver faces a felony charge of Criminal Mischief-1st Degree and a citation for All Terrain Vehicle Violations as a result of this incident. The Court Designated Worker authorized the release of the child to his mother, and the ATV was impounded by the Sheriff’s Office. No injuries were reported in the incident.
- On Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, just before 10pm, Deputy David Carroll served a criminal summons on Dena M. Decker (50) of Kuttawa. Decker is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Controlled Substances-1st Decker was the operator of a 2019 Nissan Armada which was involved in a single vehicle, injury collision on KY 93 North in October of 2022. The collision was investigated by Sheriff Brent White. Decker was hospitalized and a blood sample was obtained from her following the collision and sent to the Kentucky State Police Laboratory for examination. The results of that examination led to Decker being charged with DUI in this collision. She will be arraigned in Lyon District Court on February 22nd.
- On Saturday, February 4th, 2023, just before midnight, Deputy David Carroll responded to a single vehicle collision on KY 93 South approximately 5 miles South of Eddyville. The investigation revealed a 2011 Chevrolet HHR driven by Diamond Chatt (35) was South on KY 93 when a deer entered the roadway and Chatt’s vehicle collided with the animal. No injuries were reported to Chatt nor his adult passenger.
