Benton, KY (January 27, 2023) The Marshall County Parks Department is excited to announce that the Rocky Point Day Use Park will be getting a new boat ramp.

Construction is set to begin on the new ramp February 6, 2023. Rocky Point Day Use Park will be closed to the public, in its entirety, for the duration of the construction project. The existing 15’x67′ ramp will be expanded to a 30’x67′ ramp allowing for easier water access.

Rocky Point Day Use Park was the site for water debris recovery following the December 10th tornado prompting the need for these updates.
“As we continue to recover as a county, we are focused on building back even better than before. We look forward to seeing Rocky Point full of boaters where the collected debris once was.” commented Marshall County Parks Director, Britney Hargrove.

This expansion project comes just shortly after the addition of a new boat dock at Rocky Point Day Use Park.

While the construction is completed, the public is encouraged to utilize Marshall County’s various other day use park boat ramp locations:

Big Bear Day Use Park on Highway 58

Birmingham Boat Ramp on Barge Island Rd

Buckhorn Day Use Park on Moors Camp Hwy

Jonathan Creek Boat Ramp on Hwy 68

Little Jonathan Creek Boat Ramp on Hwy 80

Sledd Creek Day Use Park

“We are very excited to begin the process of revitalizing many of our day use parks throughout the county. Ensuring that fisherman and boaters alike have safe and plentiful access to our beautiful Kentucky Lake will be at the forefront of our goals and plans in the coming months and years.” added Hargrove.
