Suspicious male walking up and down E 20th and 21st streets was placed into custody

On 01/18/23 at around 3:10 PM, our department received a couple calls of a suspicious male, that was walking through yards on E. 20th Street. The callers sent pictures of the subject and officers responded to the area, but it was suspected that that he had already went inside. About an hour later, we received another call of a suspicious male subject, that was walking near E. 21st and Main Street, hitting mailboxes. Officers spoke with the caller, who had pulled over. The caller stated that the male had entered a vacant home, in the 2100 block of Main Street. Officers contacted the home owner, who stated that nobody had permission to be there. As officers were fixing to enter the home to look for the suspect, he walked out. The suspect, Bobby Thompson, was placed into custody. Thompson, 60, of Benton, was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree.
*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
