
Michael Lowell Hafner, 75, of Barlow, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Michael was born in Danville, Illinois on August 5, 1947. He retired from the Danville, IL Police Dept. and worked and retired as a foreman for Trinity Marine in Paducah. Michael was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his six daughters, Jessica Bell of Barlow; Christine Salo of Atlanta, GA, April Moll-Cassidy of Danville, IL, Aimee Burton of Senatobia, MS, Melonie Cawvey of Camby, IN and Amanda Felts of Barlow; three sons, Jeff Hafner Barlow, David Hafner of Galveston, TX and Ricky Bond; his special friend and girlfriend, Carol Holt of Decatur, IL; three brothers, Gail Hafner, Mike Price and Jon Hafner, both of Danville, IL; two sisters, Nancy Wilson of Huber Heights, OH and Carol Fritz of Lewisburg, OH; twenty-three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and his beloved yorkies.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jeff Richardson, Gary Price and Daniel “Danny” Hafner; his mother, Evelyn Ashby; father, Lowell Hafner and step-mother, Alice Hafner.
The family would like to express special thanks to the ICU Care Team at Lourdes Hospital and the staff at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Memorial contribution may be sent to the American Cancer Society or funeral expenses.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 W 5th St, Benton, KY with Bro. Bud Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Barlow Cemetery,
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM service time on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the funeral home.
