Mary Nell Gideon, 88 of Benton, KY died on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
Born Tuesday, January 30, 1934 in Mobile, AL, she was the daughter of the late John Smith and the late Annie (McKinney) Smith.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a mission leader.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Gideon of Reidland, KY, Jim Gideon wife Leigh of Benton, KY; daughter, Lonnie Copeland husband Donald of Gilbertsville, KY; three grandchildren, Rachel Vitel husband Ye, Tristen Prange and Gracie Gideon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hobert Duane Gideon; brothers, James Smith, Billy Joe Smith, Ferrell Smith; and sisters, Jenny Borderlon and Johnnie Ruth Wilson.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Charles LaChance officiating.
Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Gilbertsville, KY.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Collier Funeral Home.
