Mr. Billy Gene Buchanan, 84 of New Concord, KY, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House, Murray, KY.
Born October 13, 1938 in New Concord, KY, he was the son of the late Roosevelt and Tena (Ferguson) Buchanan. Billy retired from Tappan Stove Company and Murray State University where he worked as a Grounds Keeper. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserves. Billy was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Murray, KY.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane Ann (Hicks) Buchanan of New Concord, KY. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Berman Buchanan, Jesse Buchanan and Joe Buchanan.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Ballinger officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Murray City Cemetery, Murray, KY.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 South 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.
