Christian Fellowship’s Ashton Robinson qualifies for state cross country meet

Six cross country athletes from Christian Fellowship School ran in Saturday’s Region 1 Class 1A meet held at Marshall County High School.

Ashton Robinson advances as one of the five individual Region 1 Class 1A qualifiers. Robinson ran the course with a time of 20:07.87, coming in 18th place. Also running for CFS, Preston Nesshoefer, Aaron White, Andrew Dunning, Trey Clendenen and Jakin Burnett.

Murray’s Guervenson Binfield-Smith placed first in 17:27.02 and Dawson Springs took the team win. Gabby Ault from St. Mary won the girls race with a time of 19:52.56 to lead her team to a first place finish.

Robinson will compete this Saturday, Oct. 29, at KHSAA Class 1A State Cross Country Championships which will be held at the Bourbon County Cross Country Course in Paris, near Lexington.

CFS placed 10th out of 11 of schools. The top six teams advance to the state meet. After the qualifying teams are determined, the top five individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the state meet as individuals.
