Woodlands Nature Station will celebrate Wolf Week October 1-7, 2022 with the Wooly Bear Festival to follow on October 8-9.
The Friends of Land Between the Lakes at Woodlands Nature Station invites families to celebrate Wolf Week October 1-7 and the Woolly Bear Festival October 8-9, with festivities occurring each day from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Visit the Nature Station’s resident endangered red wolves and join their “pack” of wolf admirers during Wolf Week. Catch a glimpse of the 5-month-old red wolf puppies, attend special wolf programs, join the red wolves for daily feeding times, become a werewolf, and more. Discover why these cunning canines have inspired awe in people for generations.
The Nature Station’s Woolly Bear Festival will immediately follow Wolf Week with fun fall activities including crafts, a variety of guided hikes, and a nighttime guided van tour!
Wolf Week highlights include:
  • Wolf Origami: Saturday, October 1 at 11 a.m.
  • DIY Canine Track Book: Saturday, October 1 at 1 p.m.
  • Happy Wolf Day Party: Sunday, October 2 at 2:30 p.m.
  • I Wish I Were a Werewolf: Tuesday, October 4 at 1:30 p.m.
Woolly Bear Weekend highlights include:
  • Signs of the Seasons Scavenger Hunt: Saturday, October 8 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
  • Nature’s Bounty: Fall Wild Edibles Hike: Saturday, October 8 at 11 a.m.
  • Make Your Own Woolly Bear Craft: Saturday, October 8 from 1-3 p.m.
  • Owl Prowl Night Hike: Saturday, October 8 from 6:30-8 p.m. (reservation required: 270.924.2020)
  • Ghosts & Goblins Mystery Van Tour: Sunday, October 9 from 6-8 p.m. (reservation required: 270.924.2020)
