Lady Eagles roll in straight set win over Lady Marshals

Marshall County had just two losses coming into Thursday’s district game against Christian Fellowship and one of those came on August 25 in a close 3-2 (25-15, 17-25, 29-27, 20-25, 15-13) match against the Lady Eagles.

Christian Fellowship handed the Lady Marshals their third loss of the season when they rolled to an impressive 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-14) win on their home court and now boast a perfect 4-0 district record, cruising to the #1 seed in the upcoming post season tournament if they get past Murray and Calloway County next week. They beat both teams 3-0 in the first of the two matchups.

In the straight set win over the Lady Marshals, CFS was led in kills by Lilly Burnett with 11, Cory Hood had five and Gracie Howard three.  Rhema Howard led in assists with eight and Lillian Griggs had seven. Gracie Howard had 18 digs and four aces. Jayden Jackson had 17 digs.

In stats only available for two of the three games for the Lady Marshals, Sarah Bremmerkamp had six kills and nine digs. Tori Shaw five kills and 12 digs. Finella Buhay had 10 digs and Abby Hollard eight.

The Lady Eagles improve to 13-4 and will play this weekend in the wRECk the Plex tournament in Hopkinsville.
