The annual Preston Cope Classic Wiffle Ball Tournament was a huge success for the fourth year of the event. Held last Saturday at the Calvert City Ball Park, 47 teams participated which was up 20 teams from last year.

“It was an amazing day of fun, fellowship and friendly competition”, said Brian Cope.

Over $13,000 was raised for the Preston Cope Foundation and Scholarship Fund. Since 2018, there have been 57 Marshall County seniors awarded scholarships in Preston’s honor. Events like the annual Preston Cope Classic Wiffle Ball Tournament and the annual Preston Cope Memorial Golf Tournament make this all possible.

Cope said they are blessed with wonderful volunteers and sponsors throughout the community that has helped them achieve this and thanks everyone for coming out to support this year’s event and looks forward to next year.

The Traveling Preston Cope Classic trophy winners for the elementary and middle school divisions with the most participation went to Sharpe Elementary and South Marshall Middle.
