
Woodrow “Woody” Byassee, 73, of Bardwell, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at his residence.
Woody was born in Bardwell on September 21, 1948 to the late James Monroe and Frances Morgan Byassee. He worked as a boilermaker and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 40 Union. Woody loved to spend his free time outdoors. He would often go fishing in his pond or working on one of his many John Deere and Ford tractors. Woody also loved to visit local farming equipment auctions. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed relaxing while watching one of his beloved Western movies or the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. Woody’s family will remember him as being the most loving a caring husband and brother.
Woody is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Biggs Byassee of Bardwell; two brothers, Michael (Cathy) Byassee of Bardwell and Jerry (Susan) Byassee of Gilbertsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Stinson and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Rev. Ronnie Stinson, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service time of 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the funeral home.
