Lady Marshals earn district sweep over Lady Tigers with Tuesday’s 4-2 win

The Lady Marshals put themselves in the driver’s seat for the #1 seed in the district tournament with Tuesday’s 4-2 win over Murray, earning the regular season sweep of the Lady Tigers after their 2-1 win on August 23.

Kelsey Crass scored the first two goals of the first half and Mia Teague the second two to give the Lady Marshals a 4-0 lead at halftime. The first goal by Crass came six minutes in with the assist to Anna Robertson. Her second goal just six minutes later off an assist by Macy Scott.

Teague scored her two goals in the final seven minutes of the half, the first at the 33-minute mark and the second just four minutes later with the assist by Amelia Boone.

Murray’s two second half goals came from Bria Stiff just past the halfway point and the second goal was scored by Kyra Jones.

Parker Perry had two saves for the Lady Marshals in the first half and Phoebe Ramsey had four second half saves.

Saturday, the Lady Marshals beat Clarksville, Tenn. 2-1 in the DC Electric Lady Marshals Classic. Both goals were scored by Crass with an assist to Zoe Maxlow. Parker Perry had three saves.

Next on the schedule is a trip to Bowling Green to play Greenwood (6-2-1). The JV game starts at 1:30 followed by the Varsity.
