Outdoor Kids’ Fest at the Woodlands Nature Station

Bring the family to the Woodlands Nature Station during Labor Day weekend for a kid-friendly foray into some important outdoor skills! From learning about venomous animals to practicing your fishing skills, we’ll learn some new ways to enjoy the great outdoors.
Trades Fair at the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm
September 3 & 4 | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Come out to the Homeplace for a day of family fun on the farm! We are hosting craftspeople from nearby areas who will be showcasing their talents in historic trades that were common during the 1850s. We will have a variety of trades on display as well as vendors on the farm. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the tradespeople who keep these skills alive.
Piney Campers’ Fair at Piney Campground
September 24 & 25 | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Visit Piney Campground later this month for their annual open house and Campers’ Fair. Explore the campground and check out the craft booths, RVs, food, golf carts, and more. See event flier.

Deer Hunting Starts this Weekend
Land Between the Lakes deer archery season opens in both its Kentucky and Tennessee portions this weekend on September 3, 2022.

Safety Advisory: Care needs to be taken when hunting in and around tornado-damaged areas. Beware of loose overhead limbs as well as ongoing salvage operations.
Stop by the Elk & Bison Prairie in September and October to hear the unforgettable sounds of elk bugling during the rut. Like bison, bull elk can be aggressive to each other and may have raw scars and sores from fighting during their breeding season. Please remember to keep wildlife wild. Do not approach any animal or allow them to approach you. Bison and elk will charge.

Last Call for HistoriCorps Volunteers!
Land Between the Lakes is partnering with HistoriCorps to restore the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm’s iconic Double Pen House- and we need your help! Volunteers will learn and apply traditional roofing skills to preserve the Double Pen House. Aside from being comfortable with heights, no prior experience is needed! Four project sessions will be offered in September and October 2022.
