Mr. Kenneth ” Apple Jaws” Simmons, age 79, of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at his residence.
He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, former owner of K and L Bar-B-Q, retired employee of General Tire and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lennie Virginia Jackson Simmons; three sons, Eddie Duffy of Paducah, KY, Kenny (Doris) Duffy of Mayfield, KY and Troy Moss of Chicago, IL; two daughter, Dorothea Moss and LaMone Powell both of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Stewart (Barbara) Simmons of Nashville, TN; one sister, Delores Simmons of Atlanta, GA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Summers Simmons; one daughter, Lisa Duffy; one sister, Deliah Blair; and one granddaughter, Sherita Sherrill.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth “Apple Jaws” Simmons will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Leroy Brent will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
