Marshals win Christian County Invitational, take second in Owensboro

With a team score of 290, the Marshals won the Christian County Invitational at Western Hills Municipal Golf Course on Saturday and followed that up with a second place finish on Monday in the Owensboro Catholic Invitational at The Pearl Club.

Ryan Stokes and D.J. Morris led with a pair of even par 71’s in the win at Western Hills. Stokes finished second, Morris third and Trey Wall shot 72 for fifth place. Logan Davis shot 76 and Gunner Hoover 78 to round out team scores. The Marshals won by 15 strokes over second place McCracken County. Christian County’s Landon Hunt shot one stroke better than Stokes and Morris to earn the win.

Wall shot 71 to place second in the Owensboro Catholic Invitational to lead the Marshals on Monday to a second place finish with a score of 304. Bowling Green took first with a score of 301 and team member Reed Ritchey shot 3-under-par 69 to take the win. Following Wall, Stokes shot 75, Morris 77, Davis 81 and Hoover 84.
