Dorothy Cathey, 83, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 9:05p.m. August 1, 2022 at her residence. She was born on August 22, 1938 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Mary Hawes Powell. Dorothy was the retired owner and operator of the Special Beauty Shop and was a member of Heartland Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Darla Cook and husband, Jeffrey, of Paducah, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kisha Cook of Paducah, Kentucky and Josh Cathey of Paducah, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Kaiden Rodgers, Faith Cathey, Kelsei Cathey and Landon Cathey all of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters, Shirley Orr and Alice Brown both of Paducah, Kentucky; four brothers, Larry Powell, Bill Powell, Wayne Powell, Terry Powell all of Paducah, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Cathey; son, Dennis “Dennie” Cathey; sister, Martha “Tootie” Turner; two brothers, James Powell and Jack Powell and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
