The Marshall County Homemakers celebrated County Annual Day, Wednesday, July 14th at the Extension Office. This year’s theme was “A Trip Down Memory Lane”. Each club decorated a table for the luncheon with items from years past. The Sharpe Homemakers Club gathered vintage sewing notions including a miniature sewing machine, wooden sock darning mushrooms, old wooden spools, tatting shuttles, antique scissors and thimbles, old patterns and a tracing wheel to complete their centerpiece. President, Doll Blakney, made coordinating placemats, and Denise Rudolph gathered the items from club members and put the display together.During the meeting, five members of the Sharpe Club were recognized for outstanding achievement. Pictured above left to right: Doll Blakney for having completed 100-500 volunteer hours, Mitzi McGinnis for completing over 500 volunteer hours, Sheila Hawkins for having Perfect Attendance this year and having 100 – 500 volunteer hours, and Sue Eastham for having over 500 volunteer hours. Sue also earned top individual volunteer status, having 1084 hours total. Most of those hours were spent helping with the tornado relief efforts. Not pictured is Davida Hill. Davida was awarded a certificate for having 50 years of membership with the MC Homemakers.
