
He was a veteran of the United States Army worked at Pittsburg Metal and Alloys in Calvert City for 40 years where he was a storeroom operator and also ran overhead cranes. Glenn was a member of Maple Spring United Methodist and served on the cemetery board for Maple Spring Cemetery. He also served on the Marshall County Hospital Board for 18 years.
Born Monday, June 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Lonnie Nimmo and the late Clara Edith Henson Nimmo.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley (Byars) Nimmo of Benton, KY; son, Mitch Nimmo wife Sally of Erlinger, KY; daughter, Debbie Benton husband Jacky of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Katie Rhodes, Amanda Benton, Chuck Nimmo, Molly Wallen; great grandchildren, Isaac Johnson, Sam Johnson, Susie Rhodes, Thatcher Rhodes, Jensen Nimmo, Paxton Rhodes, Stevie Nimmo; nephew, Rickie Nimmo wife Annette of Benton, KY; and great nephew, Jay Nimmo of Benton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter in law, Sue Nimmo; brother, John Everett Nimmo; sister in law, Ruth Nimmo; and grandchild, Thomas Johnson.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Kenny Locke and Rev. Samantha Hall officiating.
Interment will follow the service in Maple Springs Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Collier Funeral Home.
