Richard E. Sams, Jr., better known as “Ricky” or “Little Ricky”, age 51, of Arlington, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
Richard was born in Clinton, Kentucky on October 10, 1970 to the late Richard Sams, Sr. and Martha Jean Hammonds Sams. He worked as a laborer at Owens Saw Mill for over 20 years and was of the Baptist faith. Richard took time to enjoy the simple things in life like fishing, sitting on his front porch and watching squirrels. He was also a fan of Western movies, cooking and grilling. His greatest love was for his children and grandchildren.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Kelsey Marie Drew (Dakota) of Arlington and Keeley Micah West (Matthew) of Arlington; two sons, Dakota Lane Sams of Arlington and Matthew Kane Sams of Arlington; his mother, Martha Jean Hammonds Sams; and four grandchildren, Jake Sams, Railynn Drew, Myla Drew and Addison West.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eugene Sams, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Brother Glenn Stewart and Brother David Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cunningham.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
