A native of Oneonta, New York, Mrs. Sawyer was born December 15th, 1945 to the late William and Beulah (Lucia) Durma. She was a retired office clerk and a member of Miller Street Baptist Church in Oneonta, New York. Mrs. Sawyer loved her family, enjoyed music and dancing and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees.
She is survived by one daughter, Billie Jo Garris of New Bern, North Carolina; one son, Stephen John Sawyer of New Bern, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Keila Marie Garris-Stocum, Brandy Ann Sawyer-Miller, and Kerry Jerome Garris (Victoria); and eight great- grandchildren, Kailey Marie Kennon, Joshua Dean Kennon, Audrey Rae Garris, Odin Perkins, Noah Perkins, Christopher Miller, Aurbrey Miller and Tristan Miller.
