Lady Marshals softball team celebrates 2022 season

The 2022 Lady Marshals Softball team recently held their end-of-season banquet and handed out awards. The team finished 20-16, 4th District Champions and Region 1 semi-finalist. The team’s batting average was .337 and they finished with 303 hits, 251 runs, 120 stolen bases and a fielding percentage of .954.

Senior Charley Pursley’s batting average of .541 set a new school record senior Tia Thorpe set a new single-season record with seven home runs.

KSCA All Academic All-State awards went to Charley Pursley, Anna Vasseur and Tia Thorpe. Charley and Tia were selected to the Region 1 All-Tournament Team and All-District Team selections went to Charley, Madyson Morton, Anna Vasseur and Gracelyn Darnall. Charley was also named to the East/West All-Star Team.

Academic All-State awards went to Chloe Coursey, Merriel Jackson, Anna Vasseur, Kaylee Brown, Allicen Harris, Madyson Morton, Tia Thorpe, Myle Tynes, Chevelle Henson, Gracelyn Darnall and Charley Pursley.
