CFSB awards 2022 scholarship recipients

(Benton, KY)-Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB) is proud to announce the first 12 recipients of the CFSB Student Scholarship Program after receiving over 130 applicants from high school seniors across Calloway, Graves, Marshall, and McCracken counties.

Scholarships were awarded to twelve students based on their academic achievement, community and school involvement and information presented in the answer to the writing prompt based on the 5 vision points of CFSB; Culture, Community, Leadership, Value and Commitment.  Each student received $1000 to be used for any post-graduation path during a surprise “pop-up” party where CFSB Team members celebrated and congratulated the student with their family and friends.

Bella Swain, Calloway County High School

Bella was involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA), FBLA, Leadership Tomorrow and works with the His Kids program, Kids Against Hunger, Torrie’s Turkeys.  She also works with her church, Hardin Baptist, with community initiative and worked with 8 Days of Hope in clearing out trees after the December 10 tornado.

Jackson Bell, Murray High School

Jackson was involved in Beta club, Yak Club, FCA, the MHS Baseball team, French Club, National Honors Society, and the MHS Dawg Pound. He also is an honor roll member and participates actively in the Glendale Road Church of Christ Youth Group.  Other activities include being a mentor in the Penguin Project and Camp Counselor at the Playhouse in the Park and working on the Glendale Road Ramp Building Team.

Jayce Riley, Murray High School

Jayce was involved in the French club, National Beta Club, Gifted and Talented for Leadership, and was the basketball manager, on the volleyball team and an active peer mentor for Students with Disabilities.  She was also a recipient of the student athlete scholar patch and the Kentucky Athletic Association Academic All-State honorable mention. She volunteers at the Calvert City Convalescent Center.

Caroline Glass, Mayfield High School

Caroline was involved in National Beta Club, FBLA, Pure Cardinals/ASAP Youth Council, Choir, Key Club, Saint Jude’s’ Catholic Church Youth Group, Marching Band, Drama Club, Youth Leadership, Interact Club, Yearbook, Pep Club and played Volleyball and Track and Field.

Emily Green, Mayfield High School

Emily was involved in FBLA, Youth Leadership, Beta Club, Pure Cardinals, Interact Cub, Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has also been a counselor at Lakeshore United Methodist Assembly, and worked with the Salvation Army Bell ringers, and service activities with the church youth group.

Yenni Gonzales Madera, Mayfield High School

Yenni was a part of MHS soccer, band, color guard, cheerleading, track and field and was the HOSA President, Foreign Language Clube President, Beta Club, BFLA, Cultural Diversity group and worked at the St. Joseph distribution center.

Aleksei Shaverin, Marshall County High School

Aleksei was involved in Student Council, Young Americans for Freedom, the Junior Rotary Club and was captain of the Marshall County Boys Soccer Team.  He has worked at MegaFit Meals, Majestic Steak House, Milo’s Lawn and Landscaping, Pinnacle, Inc. and was a coach of U12 Dynamo Boys Soccer Team. He is also the owner of Lynch’s Lawn and Landscaping. He completed the Governor’s Scholars Program at Centre College.

Chandler Maddox, Marshall County High School

Chandler was a part of HOSA, Beta Club, Engineering Club, High School Academic Team, Kentucky Student Voice Team, and completed the Governor Scholar Program.  She is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Benton Youth Group as a middle school girl mentor and has volunteered her time at Marcella’s Kitchen, Nashville Homeless program, Red Cross Community Blood Drives and the Shinning Star Project.

Hope Howard, Marshall County High School

Hope was involved in Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Gold Club, Interact Club, Kindness Club, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Young Americans for Freedom and the Marshall Militia. She was also a member of the Marshall County Soccer team and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She has also volunteered time with peer tutoring within the Rise Program and Bags of Love.

Brianna McGregor, McCracken County High School

Brianna was involved in Beta Club, HOSA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Paducah Bank Teen Ambassadors, Youth LEAD Paducah, National Honors Society, Environmental Club, and the Library Advisory Council.  She was also a peer tutor for special education students and part of the Baptist Health Paducah’s Medical Explorers Post and volunteers with Upward Youth Basketball and various community events.

Colton Hayden, McCracken County High School

Colton was involved with BioTras, and has worked within private construction, EBay Resale and at the Fancy Farm Vineyard as a groundskeeper and pruner. He has volunteered his time at Big Brown Truck Pull, at the Fancy Farm Picnic and with various roles with McCracken County Wrestling.

Hillary Hollowell, McCracken County High School

Hillary was involved with Student Government, Youth Lead, Future Farmers of America, Paducah Bank Teen Ambassadors, National Honors Society, Beta Club and was part of the McCracken County Soccer Team. She has volunteered her time at the Lakes of Paducah Little League, tutoring at Concord Elementary, Baptist Health Hospital, Groceries for Good, Merryman House, Academic Team, the Buddy Walk, Empty Bowls Project, Kickball for Cancer, and the Salvation Army.
