Jim Georgiou, age 66, of Mayfield, KY passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at his residence.
He was the founder of Majestic Family Restaurant in Mayfield, KY that his family continues to operate today. Jim was also a member of the Greek Orthadox Faith.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Dick Georgiou; one son, P.J. (Holly) Georgiou of Murray, KY; one daughter, Elaine Georgiou of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Gus (Popi) Georgiou of Benton, KY; two sisters, Dina (Ted) Mitides of Queens, New York and Kiki (William) Liberopoulos of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Sophie, Savannah, and Christian; one brother-in-law, Billy (Bonnie) Dick of Mayfield, KY; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pitassy of Mayfield, KY; many nieces, nephews and Greek cousins also survive.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Eleni Karvounis Georgiou.
The Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayfield, KY. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery in Mayfield, KY. Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
